Okay -- I think I get the idea about RSS feeds. I subscribed to some blogs that I like, and People and Entertainment newsfeeds. I have to figure out how to access all these, but I am working on that. Will I really use it? Time will tell......

instant messaging

I just did the 20 for 2.0 unit on instant messaging. I already use this with my kids, my husband and also some friends who have gmail. I use google chat which seems to work fine for me. I am not all that interested in applications like Meebo because all the people I really want to chat with are using google chat. I like instant messaging because of the fun surprise of someone "Chiming In" when you don't expect it. I also like the immediacy of the talk. It feels more intimate and personal. I am glad to use it more and maybe will try Meebo in the future.

Well, I am writing my second post. I have looked at a bunch of the posts by Sno-Isle people who have done this training to get some ideas. No luck -- I guess I will just post about stuff I really care about for real.
I had my oscar party last Sunday. I think I have "won" the last few years, which was not always the case. It feels a little strange to invite people to your house and then you get the gifts they bring, but it is still a bit satisfying to win. I really liked "Slumdog Millionaire" and was glad it won so many awards. I also really enjoyed "The Reader", though in the crowd at my party, it is not PC to like such a, shall we say, frank, movie. I thought Kate Winslet did an amazing job and deserved the oscar for her portrayal of Hanna. Anyhow -- another year of Oscars gone by, and another year of movies to come! Bring on the popcorn!

my first blog post

I am learning how to blog for work, but just maybe, I might like it for real. We will have to see. Oscar season is upon us which means the rush to see lots of nominated films is ON! I have seen quite a few this year, but some still remain. I will update this as I see more films. Currently, "Slumdog Millionaire" is one of my favorites.
